On August 8. 2015, we had the great pleasure of working with Joann, a bride with a smile that lights up the room and Eric, a groom with a charismatic heart and a love for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The wedding took place at 440 Seaton in Downtown Los Angeles. We were enthused to take on the challenge to transform the large warehouse space to create an intimate feel for 300 guests. With the help of our amazing vendors, warm lighting, plenty of draping and tons of fun detail, Joann and Eric’s wedding was one for the books!

The couple’s wedding was also featured recently on Style Me Pretty California! Check it out right HERE.

The couple’s palette was simple with neutral shades of ivory and cream, touches of gold and pops of deep red. Red was mainly used in the beautifully arranged floral and the absolutely dreamy arch by Emblem Floral Design. Guests entered the main room from the streets and were welcomed by a wall with a phrase that began their journey for the evening “The Best is Yet to Come.”

Once the couple said their “I dos,” guests were ushered into two areas in the cocktail reception to munch on appetizers from Hungry Bear Catering and sip non-stop at the open bar from Sunseris. The couple also decided to partake in a Korean bowing ceremony during cocktail hour. Valentina Glidden took some of the most stunning photos of this traditional Korean ceremony I have ever seen! We absolutely love when couples embrace their culture and honor their parents in this simple, but absolutely sweet ceremony.

The couple’s love for the DODGERS was unforgettable and was infused into a custom escort installation with “baseball tickets” placed on plexi trays filled with peanuts, cracker jacks, baseballs and a phrase the couple chose by the ever-so-famous Yogi Berra.

A live band welcomed the guests as they entered the reception hall filled with long family-style reception tables for a memorable dinner that many guests have said was one of the best meals at a wedding they’ve had. After dinner,  a dessert room was set-up with two of the couple’s favorite sweets from Disneyland — beignets and dole whip! It was only fitting for us to create a special vinyl for the floor reading “Watch Me Whip” and “Watch Me Nae Nae.” The vinyls were placed on the floor with foot prints that copied the dance moves from once station to the other.

Joann and Eric, working with you two is such a blessing. I can’t even begin to put into words how much fun I had with your wedding and the two of you. Being around the two of you is always filled with so much laughter and joy! I will never forget Joann’s happy dance at the food tasting. Love you both to pieces!

We’re always a fan of fun, quirky and colorful details so when a couple allows us to do what we do best by incorporating such details into a wedding, we’re on it faster than you can say “I DO!”

Eunice and Michael’s May 2015 wedding was such a treat for us to design and plan. The palette of colors marigold, poppy and deep teal was such a fun wheel of colors to work with. The couple also requested to incorporate tid bits of their nicknames they are known by into the wedding– robot and dino! The groom, a talented graphic designer, designed all the paper goods with the most adorable collection of symbols, icons and emojis based on the things the couple loves. We were able to tie in these exciting details throughout the wedding to create one awesome wedding and dance party!

Have you ever asked your bartender for a hug or a high five? Eunice and Michael’s guests sure have! The specialty drinks at the bar were named “Hug” and “High Five” so the question of the night was “Can I get a hug/high five?”  Even the drink orders were fun to hear and even more exciting when the bartenders actually gave the guests a high five.

An outdoor reception took place at the Unique Space LA with long tables and centerpieces with maiden hair fern plants, centerpieces with lots of greenery and protea, painted wood blocks with succulents and (the best part) painted dinosaurs! Eunice and Michael’s wedding had the perfect colors and personality that epitomized “fun!”

Thank you so much, Eunice and Michael, for allowing us to be a part of your creative journey with you! It was so humbling to work with a couple with such a strong love for each other, family and church. You guys are seriously dino-mite! Looking forward to our dinner dates and future escape room shenanigans!

A wedding filled with so much personality, details and absolute love from friends and family are definitely characteristics of a wedding you know will be amazing! Tiffany and Bobby, residents of New York, had planned for a Spring wedding with a color palette fit for the season with peach, coral, dusty blue, ivory and shades of blush pink.

The bride, being a designer herself, hand drew and created the invitation and all the stationery pieces in their wedding. It was such a special touch to the wedding knowing the first item that the guest saw were created by the bride. Her illustration of beautiful flower blooms were carried throughout the wedding details from the menus, programs and table numbers. The groom’s love for beer pong were not forgotten, as custom painted beer pong tables with the design were made for guests to play a game of speed beer pong during cocktail hour.

Being that Tiffany and Bobby were from New York and knowing just how special New York was to the couple, we knew we just had to incorporate the idea of New York into their big day. It was only appropriate that we made their outdoor cocktail hour into a nod to their love for the city. A popcorn vendor was set-up serving fresh popcorn to guests. A large escort installation was created with a hand illustrated map of all the couple’s favorite landmarks. Escort cards were then attached that led guests to tables that were also named after the landmarks.

Following the cocktail hour, guests entered a rustic dining hall to finish off their evening with dinner and lots of drinking and dancing. A rather extensive dessert station was set-up and displayed on a large wooden hutch from Found Rentals’s beautiful collection. It was such an amazing evening for an even more amazing couple and all their wedding guests.

Tiff and Bobby, we hadso much fun working with the two of you! Can’t believe how time just flew by during all the planning! We’re going to miss you both so much and can’t wait to see you both again soon (in NY?)! We loved every moment working with you and seeing all the beautiful details you put into your wedding design. You have a beautiful group of friends and such a loving family. WE LOVE YOU!

Today we’re sharing the whimsical wedding of Jenny and Eugene at Calamigos Equestrian in Burbank from last September. It was THE busiest weekend for the CCL Team as we had 4 weddings in just 2 days and the team pulled it all off beautifully! Jenny and Eugene’s wedding was recently featured on Wedding Chicks, and you can definitely check it out HERE! Below are the details of the couple’s wedding from their wedding coordinator, Liz Yoon:

Planning this perfect day for Jenny and Eugene was full of adventures and surprises. To begin the whole celebration with the bride’s entrance in a white horse carriage to ending the night with “Don’t Stop Believing” serenaded by their entire guests on the dance floor, I definitely enjoyed every part of this day.

Jenny and Eugene envisioned their wedding to have a clean and simple look , but bring in pops of vibrant colors through details throughout the big day. We had the chance to add their personal favorites into their wedding day by incorporating their love for Izzi soda as an escort wall. The couple’s miniature husky, Oski, also made an appearance in the wedding ceremony and sprinkled through the wedding paper details.

To also include Korean culture into their wedding celebration, the couple had Korean traditional ceremony, Pae Baek, which represented the groom’s cultural background.

It was very exciting to work with such great and gifted vendors to create a beautiful day; ultimately, to witness great love between Jenny and Eugene as they said, “I do.”

Friends since high school, Julie and Jonathan didn’t know that one day they would be meant for each other until many years later. Once Jonathan popped the question to seal the deal, the couple began planning their elegant May wedding to be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. The couple chose a beautiful, traditional and elegant color palette with ivory, gold and subtle hints of blush pink.

The groom, growing up with a family who had owned a liquor store, was known for always consuming two things: candy and beef jerky. We knew having these two elements somewhere in the wedding would be a great nod to the groom. A beef jerky station with the groom’s favorite flavors were chosen and displayed during cocktail hour. It was a hit! As guests walked into the reception hall they were greeted with a custom candy station made of plexi-glass into the shapes of a round table and the couple’s initials.

A gorgeous escort card installation, created from vintage gold and glass shelving from Found Rentals, was filled with champagne bottles personalized with guest’s names written on each in calligraphy. Guests took their time to find their names and sit in the display area to snap a group photo with their friends and family.

The dinner reception was held inside the main ballroom, where the guests dined on a four-course dinner and were entertained with all the out-of-the ordinary speeches and presented with endless cake and desserts. A special performance from The couple impressed their guests with their choreographed first dance to the song “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran.

Julie and Jonathan, your wedding had some of the best stories yet! I loved getting to know you both and work with you on your wedding day! I know you’ll miss those emails from me, but I will be sure to randomly email you every now and then with my to-do lists and follows ups! Can’t wait to enjoy another dinner together! Love you both so much!

A couple who met in church and live their lives serving others, it is only appropriate Hannah and Alfie revolved their wedding around their favorite bible verse, “Do Everything in Love.”  Hannah and Alfred met at the perfect time, and everyone around them knew marriage was in their near future.  One year later, Alfred popped the question and the couple was on their way to planning their March of 2016 wedding.

The setting was perfect in every way. Hannah and Alfie said “I DO” in front of their closest friends and family in a beautiful outdoor garden setting. It was a simple ceremony that brought out tears of joy and laughter. The couple chose a clean color palette of ivory, deep green and gold, and of course, made sure the phrase “Do Everything in Love” was a key part of the planning and wedding day.

Guests were then escorted to the cocktail hour set in front of a Victorian-style home, where guests munched on cheese, crackers and fresh fruit and sipped on some of the couple’s favorite cocktails and beers. An escort installation with a LARGE gold sequined heart was created in honor of the couple’s dating anniversary on February 14th, also “coincidentally” known as Valentine’s Day. Custom conversation hearts with words chosen by the groom were made and packaged for each guest.

The dinner proceeded inside a red barn with twinkling lights and an endless buffet for the guests to fuel up before dancing the night away with the couple. The wedding dance floor was also perfectly and custom decaled with the words “Do Everything in Love”.

Hannah and Alfred, you two truly have hearts of gold and we are so blessed to have the opportunity to work with the both of you!

Talk about a splash of color! We have one colorful wedding at the Fig House in Los Angeles to share with you!

I met Jennie, the bride, several times during different wedding events prior to working with her to plan her own, and I can say that working on this couple’s wedding is a planner’s dream. When we first talked about Jennie and Derek’s wedding design and concept, the couple admittedly declared a few MUST HAVES to the perfect wedding: good food,  loads of alcohol and elements of fun! Those must haves were seriouslyelements to a very memorable party. The best thing about Jennie and Derek’s entire wedding planning process was the absolute trust the couple took by hiring us on to be their full service wedding planner. I mean, what couple would have allowed their wedding planner to choose everything for them, including the colors, concept and details.  Right when the couple gave me the green light I immediately began brainstorming about all thethings we could incorporate to make this wedding unique and different.

We started off setting the palette that complimented the venue’s teal walls and beautifully stained glass windows. We enlisted graphic designer, Lani Choi, to work on Jennie and Derek’s stationery design. Boy did we come up with some fun invites! We created long and skinny invitations with complimenting pieces in unique geometric shapes to fit in with the hexagon tables and the custom ceremony “arch” created just for their wedding ceremony. It was something that we had never done and it was absolutely spectacular.

The guests were invited into the cocktail hour area with huge mirrors that were in place at the venue reading “A Good Story Never Started With a Salad.” This was the beginning of a lot of alcohol as the couple requested. “Hangover kits” were created as the guest’s escort cards, with items the couple craved and wanted if they were hungover. The dinner reception was catered by M Grill Brazilian BBQ. Think of sizzling swords of meat being carved directly at the guest’s tables. When the guests were done eating, they just flipped over their custom BBQ tags to “FULL CAPACITY.”

Jennie and Derek, what can I say? You two wanted to make sure your guests had a very FUN time at the wedding, and they definitely got just that. It was truly an honor for you two to trust me to make the decisions for your wedding–THANK YOU! I loved everything about your wedding, dress, food… I could go on and on. Thank you again and miss you both!

When you put two people who have the same passion for food, work as they do for each other,  you can definitely all agree that they are truly BETTER TOGETHER.

Stacy and Edwin are no strangers to the CCL family.  We had the honor to work with Edwin’s brother, Chris, on various graphic design projects and also had the luxury of planning his wedding in 2013. When we started working with the couple it was a match-made in heaven. We absolutely adored Stacy and Edwin’s love for good food, amazing cocktails and their fun and quirky ideas they wanted to tie into their wedding.

Having the wedding at Fig House in Los Angeles was perfect!  Hundreds of paper hearts were hung from the ceiling to accompany the bride’s vision of a detailed area over their dining area. The lyrics to their first dance song “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran were placed on the large mirrors when guests entered the venue. Did I mention the bride and groom are both pharmacists? So it was only fitting for their wedding cocktail mixologists at Pharmacie LA to mix up and serve their cocktails. An installation was built and created specifically for the couple that consisted of dozens of vintage apothecary medicine bottles as their escort cards. The florist, Green Leaf Designs, then filled each bottle with a beautiful floral bloom that not only made this a wall of escort cards, but an art installation as well.

Custom tattoos and buttons were just some of the many details that were available at the wedding for the guests to take and wear throughout the evening. For dessert, Carmela Ice Cream, a hot coffee station and hot churros were available for the guests to devour after dinner.

You can also check out their wedding featured on Grey Likes Weddings HERE!

Stacy and Edwin, I ABSOLUTELY ADORE YOU! I love the love you two have, and how you truly embrace the GOOD LIFE. I cannot thank you enough for allowing CCL to be a part of your wedding planning and day. Can’t wait to see you both soon over another amazing meal. Love you both so much!

very love story is great adventure, and for Janice and Bertram, it was all about making adventures happen for two of the most selfless people who dedicate their time and lives helping others. When I spoke with the couple of the places they’d been and the volunteering they’d done, it honestly inspired me to do more for others. Hearing their great stories and being a part of this important day is EXACTLY what inspires me and why I love what I do.

The couple wedded in August of 2014 at Hartley Botanica, surrounded by a lush setting of trees everywhere! The couple really let their personalities and relationship shine through by incorporating the places they traveled and the love of things they share together and individually. For their escort installation, the couple told us how they climbed Mount Kilamanjaro and felt like their Klean Kanteen water bottles were life savers! It was only natural the couple wanted to share their love of this durable container with their friends and family, and a 8′ tall x 7.5 wide wall was built and stained to display the Klean Kanteen water bottles for their guests.

Janice and Bertram’s beautiful ceremony followed by an outdoor dinner under the summer sky, while listening to a live band and dancing the night away. Did I mention they had the most delectable wedding cake made by Sweet Lady Jane, a made-to-order hot churro truck AND a Hawaiian shaved ice station to represent each the bride and groom’s favorite desserts. It was truly dessert HEAVEN.

Janice and Bertram, I see your photos on IG of all your adventures and could not be more happy to see two exceptionally kind and generous people travel the world together. I hope your sense or wonder and curiosity will always be as BIG as always, and that your little one on the way will feel the same sense of compassion as you two. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the beginning of your new adventure. Love you both so much!

What’s better than a wedding? A wedding for someone you love so dearly!

When my dear friend Susan, who I’ve been honored to know for the past 12 years, got engaged in September of 2013, and it was all smiles and tears of joy. Maggie had the pleasure of being Susan and Philip’s coordinator for their big day at Cafe Pinot in Los Angeles. It was a warm day which made for a perfect evening for an outdoor wedding, and the lit up skyrise buildings only made their wedding day even more magical. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed specialty cocktails and refreshing PINKBERRY ice cream. That’s right, dessert before dinner!

Susan and Philip chose a navy blue, light pink and rose gold palette for the wedding. Now rose gold is always a tough color to find in décor. Nevertheless, they were still able to find rose gold chiavari chairs for their wedding! They were such beauties that really tied together her wedding with the colors. All the details and decor were chosen by the bride herself, who also beautifully crafted the sign boards. Their love for coffee played the part in their escort items that were custom printed “Love is Brewing.” Coffee mugs on gold shelves were lined along a custom light pink wall to display these beauties for the guests. Patina Catering delighted the guests with a decadent three-course meal, while the evening continued with lots of dancing and a sparkler exit to send off the couple into the night.

Susan and Philip, being a part of your BIG DAY meant the world to me and all of us at CCL! Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of the memories. You both looked absolutely stunning and seeing these photos again and again only brings more tears of joy to my eyes. Love you both so much!

It’s almost May 2015 and the year just keeps zipping by us day by day. We will soon begin our rush of wedding season beginning next month and will have lots of gorgeous details to share with you, so don’t forget to keep up with us on Instagram (@cclweddings) for snapshots of our work!

Our second to last wedding last year was a weekend bash that started on a Friday evening with a Fiesta Welcome Dinner, followed by the wedding and ended with a Hangover Sunday Brunch. It was a perfect warm weekend in Palm Springs at the Parker Hotel (so excited we had the chance to finally work there) with the perfect couple, Jennifer and Kevin.

I had met Jennifer and Kevin on Valentine’s Day 2014 and what began as a normal consult turned into a 3+ hour conversation with more laughter than I could handle. I loved them the first time I met them, and too fell in love with their families when I met them the weekend of the wedding. Jennifer and Kevin are the true definition of High School Sweethearts that made it through over 10 years of dating and even moving to another country to work.

Jennifer and Kevin’s destination wedding was all about the laid back and cool vibes of the Palm Springs style and creating a FUN and gorgeous wedding weekend for all their guests who not only drove in, but flew thousands of miles to celebrate the weekend with them. Check out the photos from Sloan Photographers to see what the weekend was all about!

Jenn and Kevin, you two make laughter contagious and I am so happy to have met such positive and hilarious people. Getting to know you and your family has been so humbling and I cannot wait to hear what crazy adventures and stories when I see you again in July. YAY! Gloria Lee and I miss your emails and Kevin’s random responses! Congrats to you both again and again! Love you both!

It’s already been 2 months since the day Ray (#tallasianguy) and I tied the knot in front of 75 of our closest friends and family overseas in Koh Samui, Thailand. I have to say that it was THE BEST DAY & WEEKEND of my life and I still wish that we were in Koh Samui drinking out of coconuts and eating spicy Thai food. Maybe it’s because it was our wedding, but it was truly more magical and memorable than I could imagine. I will definitely be writing more about this later in a few other posts. Today I wanted to share some photos of the #bestweekendever and give the same advice that I tell every bride, and especially told myself before departing on a 22-hour plane ride to the other side of the world.

I know that weddings can be stressful, overwhelming and sometimes just not manageable. It may be because I help 15-20 couples a year put on the wedding that it prepared me for all the planning in store. I mean airline and shuttle schedules, hotel room and villa assignments, table seating assignments, and the list goes on. I never let anything get to me, even when there was no PLAN B for the monsoon weather that extended out from December. I always told myself to make the most of everything because regardless of what happens there are 75 other people there with us that we wanted to make sure had the time of their life. I relied on the amazing lead coordinators (Gloria Yi and Gloria Lee) that we flew with us to Thailand to take care of our guests and the entire weekend. I learned to live in the moment and not dwell on the things that won’t matter 5, 10, 20 or 100 years from now.

Today, 2 months later I am still on cloud nine wishing that we could all one day be back on the island celebrating and dancing under the stars in front of the ocean. It was magical and I could not have imagined it any other way! The people, the food, the island vibes… to us it was the best weekend ever.

My advice to the thousands or brides out there (if you wish to take some pieces of advice from a now former bride):

  • Hire someone your are comfortable and confident with and TRUST them the entire way. Do not try to control everything and remember everything for the entire day. Your planner will help guide you.
  • Try on everything the week before the wedding and pack all your personal and wedding items at least 5 days prior to the wedding.
  • Make a check list of everything that needs to be handed off to your planner and match against theirs.
  • Drink a lot of water the week of the wedding and make sure to get plenty of sleep because you probably won’t sleep as much a few days before the wedding. I was just so excited that I couldn’t wait to wake up each day!
  • Lay out EVERYTHING the night before the wedding. I personally laid out all my hair and makeup items in sections on a towel so the people who needed those items would be able to come in and start right away. I also made sure to have water and iced tea available for the wonderful ladies/ bridesmaids in my life while getting ready.
  • Lay out everything that you would like to have photographed in an area that no one will touch.
  • Have your bridesmaids pack up all their items before helping you get ready so it’s not messy or hectic later on.
  • Wake up earlier, finish earlier and take time to sit down and enjoy lunch with the wedding party. This was one thing I was very thankful for! We pre-ordered all our lunch so we had time to actually sit with the entire wedding party and our families to enjoy a meal before everything began.
  • Keep your wedding party happy, hydrated and full because the best wedding party is a happy wedding party. We also had drinks andfresh fruit ready for them after the photos and before the ceremony to unwind and enjoy the view before the festivities completely began.

These are just some of my tips that we were glad we did for our wedding party, family and us. Enjoy some of the photos taken from our friends phones in the meantime! Can’t wait to share more with you all.

If I had to choose 2 super human beings to define the phrase “power couple,” it would definitely be Jen and Michael! I met Jen and Michael over a year before their wedding, they amazed me from day one and were unstoppably ambitious individuals . This was apparent in their career, relationships and lifestyles, they were always jumping through hoops and making things happen. We’re so thankful to have their wedding featured TODAY on Ruffled Blog! Check out the feature right, HERE, HERE OR HERE!

It was no surprise, then, their wedding was such a beautiful success! The couple chose a very vibrant color palette presented through all the intricate details that defined who they were together as a couple and individually. These Berkeley alums even named one of the specialty cocktails after the ever-so-famous mascot, Oski. It was the first time a couple asked for multiple beer pong tables during cocktail hour, so it was only appropriate we custom built the tables and even had our very own Skye Cho (a.k.a #fontgirl) paint on the same watercolor pattern from their invites.

As guests dined under the stars overlooking a field of beautiful vegetation, the couple kept surprising with performances, from their first dance to their parent’s dances. It was such an eventful night ended with a magical grand exit under dozens of lit sparklers.

Jen and Michael, cannot wait to see your 10 year plan come to fruition one day! I admire you both in all you do and cannot be happier to call you friends. Thank you for allowing us into your lives and being able to plan your BIG DAY!

Today we bring to you a wedding for a couple to near and dear to my heart! My older sister, Sandra, married the love of her life last October at Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Santa Susana. I was thrilled to work on my sister’s wedding, and when I realized their love for beer and wine, it was only appropriate for us to include that into their wedding! Our very own, Gloria Lee and Gloria Yi, helped plan, execute and coordinate the wedding and they did an amazing job!

From Gloria Yi:

“Sandra & Myles wed at Hummingbird Nest Ranch, a beautiful venue tucked in the mountains of Santa Susana. Upon arrival, guests were offered sugar cookies with periwinkle icing in the shape of the couple’s initials, “M” and “S” from Merely Sweets in Brea, CA. Chilled bottles of Izze Soda were available for guests to refresh themselves as well.

Surrounded by a field of greenery, guests witnessed the beautiful couple say “I DO” under a beautiful floral arch assembled by Milieu Floral Design accompanied by a trio from OC Strings.

Following the ceremony, guests were escorted to a poolside cocktail hour to celebrate and mingle! Escort cards following the periwinkle, peach and gold color concept were tagged onto bottles of beer, wine, and apple cider on a custom installation board following the theme “It Gets Better with Age.” On the board were also photos of the couple growing up as a baby, toddler, child and teenager.   A do-it-yourself trail mix station was provided for guests to pair with their escort card drinks with snacks such as nuts, chocolate, and dried fruit.

Guests were then invited to dinner and dance under the stars with live entertainment provided by Wayne Foster Entertainment who helped narrate Sandra & Myles love story.

There was never a dull moment during this beautiful reception! With the help of the talented duo from Sloan Photographers, the gorgeous day was captured. ”

Sandra and Myles, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of the magic! Sandra, you were always there for me growing up and I was so happy to stand by your side and support you on a day that you have dreamed of. You are an amazing person, sister and friend. Welcome to the family, Myles! Hope you fit in with our nutty family =)

It was so fun working with Sloan Photographers many times this year, and we cannot thank them enough for all the beautiful images they continuously provide us! We love you guys!

2015 has certainly been full of surprises and eventful moments so far! Our team has officially returned to sunny Southern California from our trip to Bangkok and Koh Samui, Thailand. The big news is… I’M MARRIED! If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw some of the images from our wedding weekend, and probably knew about my engagement to #tallasianguy for the past 8 months. Being on the other side as the bride has been absolutely amazing, and my HUSBAND and I both wish the weekend never ended. It was by far one of the greatest and most memorable experiences ever! I will definitely be posting about our travel and the events in a later post.

In the meantime, all this destination wedding talk leads me to this stunner of a wedding in Puglia, Italy in October 2014. We planned this grand fete in just four months and it was certainly an experience of a lifetime. Maggie, one of our associate coordinators, and I first traveled to Puglia in the heat of July and returned to a much colder and winter-esque Puglia in October. Regardless of the pouring rain and chilly weather, we made the most of what Italy had to offer!

We had the honor of witnessing the wedding of Jenny and Tony in an intimate and romantic little chapel inside the Borgo Egnazia resort property (this resort has its own town!). Yes, the same chapel where recently wedded Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got hitched! Imagine a chapel lit with hundreds of candles and filled with some garden roses and the whitest lizzianthus I ever did see!

Following the ceremony, guests were escorted to an Apulian dinner setting with natural wood, wheat, twine and cotton linen to portray the organic beauty of the countryside in Puglia and dined on a brilliant five-course dinner, traditional Apulian desserts, a wedding cake that was taller than the couple once on the table and a homemade gelato cart.

It was truly an unforgettable wedding weekend for the guests, and especially for all of us at CCL! We’re so thankful for the opportunities we’ve had exploring new places and working with such a wonderfully loving couple.

Jenny and Tony, we’re sending all our love to you both all the way in Hong Kong! thank you for everything!

Happy New Year!

We are so excited for everything that is to come this magical year. We are heading out to Koh Samui, Thailand to celebrate another wedding and will have lots to share when we return and a lot of new announcements!

In the meantime, we wanted to make sure we posted one of our Palm Springs wedding from 2014 for Barbara and Akiva coordinated by our very own– Liz Yoon!

From Lead Coordinator, Liz Yoon:

“I fall in love with Palm Springs weddings every single time, because the desert brings such versatile canvas to create many colors and different stories. Last May wedding had its own sweetness to it as Barbara and Akiva said “I Do.” This couple envisioned their whole wedding when we first met, and I was only excited to see them come together!

Their gorgeous ceremony was celebrated with a beautiful tune by a cellist, Yoshika Masuda. Planks and Patina rentals brought their assorted vintage chairs and wooden tables to set the perfect mood for their wedding. Three Bunch Palms Productions filled the tables with beautiful desert flower arrangements and lanterns. Barbara is a nutritionist, hence, guests enjoyed colorful and healthy family style meal for dinner provided by Dash and Handful Catering with helpful hands from Signature Rentals. Their escort cards were collected vintage brooches that the bride gathered herself! We completed the night with wedding cakes from Exquisite Desserts. Last but not least, this lovely day was beautifully captured by such talented Rachel and Rico Cast from Studio Castillero.

Barbara & Akiva! I am so honored and thankful that you trusted me enough to assist you in creating a beautiful day for you two to remember forever. It was so much fun getting to know you both and witness a beautiful celebration! We still need to have our long overdue hang out & a doggy date! Congrats again to both of you and cheers to everlasting happiness!”

The year is quickly coming to an end and we are slowly prepping and planning for the 2015 year! I know we always say how THANKFUL we are for our couples and industry friends, but we truly are so thankful and appreciative of all the people who have made this year a huge milestone for CCL Weddings. We have traveled to Italy many times this year for 2 destination weddings in Venice and Puglia and finished 28 beautiful weddings. Just wait to see what we have in store for 2015.

We are counting down the 25 days of Christmas on Instagram by posting our favorite snapshots of some of the weddings this past year! Follow us on Instagram @cclweddings to see what we’re up to and to catch a glimpse of our weddings and sweet couples.

What better way to end the year then to share our first wedding of 2014 from Luna Photo. When Karen first emailed me for her wedding I was absolutely thrilled. Maybe it was also because I knew her sister and somewhat knew her during high school. Itis always amazing to see people you know tie the knot with the love of their life. The two celebrated their big day at Marvimon in Los Angeles in front of 150 of their friends and family. Eco Caters cooked up a beautiful family-style meal for all the guests to devour before hitting the cookie station and dance floor.

Karen and Jason, it’s almost your 1 year anniversary! Time sure does fly quickly and I cannot thank you enough for allowing myself and our team be a part of your wedding. Wishing you both many more years of a very sweet and blissful marriage! Love you both!

Thank you to Luna Photo for their stellar images!

The holidays are truly amongst us all! Before I get ready to trim the tree, eat turkey and shop on Black Friday, I bring to you a beautiful and intimate wedding from this past May beautifully photographer by Rob Greer Photography.

It was such a pleasure to work with Shannon and Nathan on their intimate 30 person wedding that was truly a dream to plan! It was a fun, quirky wedding that took place in a close friend’s backyard overlooking the ocean and Catalina Islands. Shannon had told me that the colors of her wedding were based on one of her favorite shirt of her beloved fiance. It was a vibrant blue and cherry red. Shannon’s idea of incorporating cherries into the specialty drink, escort cards and pies made it so fun to work with a new element.

The guests watched the couple say I DO and then dined on a six-course tasting menu prepared by Feast Catering. It truly encompassed the meaning of a wedding; to be surrounded by those who you love dearly and know you just like family, amazing food and a lot of mingling. It was a stunning and windy day that kept me on my toes due to the ribbon structure over the dining tables that was moving with the wind.

Shannon and Nathan, it was an honor to work with you on your intimate wedding celebration that allowed us to get to know the both of you and your families. Thank you so much for allowing us to plan and execute this colorful and tasty wedding! We love you!

Enjoy these photos by the amazing Rob Greer Photography.

Sending all our love to you all on this THANKFUL holiday! We cannot express our gratitude to each and every vendor and client that we have the honor to work with at each event. You make our job a joy to continuously do and we cannot thank you all enough. You all make us love what we do!

The holidays are amongst us and we cannot wait for the chilly weather to fully kick in so we can bring out those warm and cozy sweaters! We returned from beautiful Puglia, Italy last week after that left us in awe of all the beauty and delicious food Italy so humbly filled us with. Can’t wait to receive the images and video from the photographer and videographer to share with you all. The trip itself was a dream and we are so thankful for all the opportunities we have had to travel near and far to do what we love the most– WEDDINGS!

Earlier this year we had the honor to plan, design and produce a wedding in the very picturesque city of Venice, Italy. Who knew that George Clooney would then walk the hallways and stairwells of the Aman Canal Grande Hotel only a few months after we had the wedding ceremony and reception for Crystal and Feng. Our lovely couple resided in Hong Kong and needed assistance to make sure their wedding was going down the right path! I still remember getting that phone call from Crystal back in December thinking how amazing it would be if we could work on a destination wedding. A week later we got the email and we were off to Italy to plan the wedding in March, later sending our very own Maggie and Liz in May to put on one of the most beautiful weddings we have seen.

The hotel provides such beautiful architecture alone that the dinner itself was filled with tall silver candelabras to highlight the art of the room, while one of the largest arches we ever did see ware built in the garden for the ceremony. The guests were invited into the ballroom to enjoy a six course Italian meal filled with fresh seafood and pastas, along with a traditional Italian wedding cake. The party certainly did not stop there as guests danced the night away and later served dishes of spaghetti for a late-night snack.

Crystal and Feng, planning your wedding was such a dream! It has given us more doors to be open and things to be seen and we cannot thank you enough. You two were such a joy to work with, and seeing how hard you two work within your own careers only make us want to work even harder. We love you so much and cannot wait until you are back in Southern California to see you both soon! Thanks to you two we are on our way working on more destination weddings =)

Enjoy these stunning photos from Carlo Carletti! Ciao!

A million apologies for our lack of blogging, but it surely has been a VERY busy season for weddings. Next week we’re off to Puglia, Italy for a destination wedding at the Borgo Egnazia (same location where Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biele wedded)! We’re excited for the pasta, charcuterie and THE WEDDING!

Today we bring to you a wedding for two people who we absolutely fell in love with from the day we met them until today. Boram and Ken sure do love their sweets, so it was only fitting to have a wedding celebration that not only was surrounded by the people they love, but lots of sweets! Their wedding motto– “You Make Life Sweeter.” The playful and fun hues of navy, coral, peach and shimmering gold were used throughout their wedding details that included gold confetti dots and sparkling hearts.

Guests arrived and were offered a sweet tea drink with mini heart shaped sugar cookies from Merely Sweets in Brea. The guests watched the couple say “I DO” with 180 of their closest friends and family in the park located right outside the Los Angeles Public Library. During cocktail hour, guests sipped on “His” and “Her” specialty drinks and had scoops of delicious ice cream and sorbet from Carmela Ice Cream. A large candy wall was custom created to hold some of the couple’s favorite candy in coral hues, each individually packaged for their guests. Guests were then invited to diner under the starlight and glowing lights from the downtown Los Angeles buildings that surrounded the area.

For dessert, cake and a darling mini dessert station was displayed for guests to choose as they wish. Indeed sweets were a major part of this very sweet couple’s wedding, and we were so excited to be a part of it all.

Boram and Ken, I cannot say how thankful I am to have met you and work with you on your wedding day! I said it once and I will say it again, you were truly glowing and beaming with so much joy on your wedding day, and I know that will only continue throughout your marriage. We love you both and can’t wait to see you again soon!
